All About Contrast Therapy

Contrast Therapy alternates heat and cold to boost your body’s natural recovery. Enjoy the soothing rays of an infrared sauna, then cool off with a brisk plunge or shower.

Your session includes alternating stints in the infrared sauna and icy plunge or shower. We guide you every step, helping you get the most from each cycle while ensuring your comfort.

This process stimulates blood flow and helps flush out toxins and lactic acid. Muscles find relief, and inflammation calms down, leaving you feeling refreshed.

Ideal for athletes, active individuals, or anyone experiencing everyday aches, this therapy is gentle yet effective. People recovering from workouts or those seeking a wellness boost are frequent visitors.

First-timers are welcome to try, too. For any health concerns, especially heart conditions, a quick consultation ensures your safety. Our team strives to create a welcoming environment for everyone interested in holistic self-care.

Benefits Of Contrast Therapy

Contrast Therapy offers more than just immediate relief—it delivers a range of long-lasting benefits for both body and mind. Discover how this revitalizing technique can support your health and overall well-being.

  • Accelerates Muscle Recovery

This therapy flushes out lactic acid and stimulates circulation, so your muscles bounce back faster. It's perfect after a workout or anytime you feel a little extra soreness.

  • Reduces Inflammation and Swelling

Switching between hot and cold helps decrease swelling and calms inflamed tissues. You’ll notice fewer aches and pains, making it an excellent choice for anyone prone to stiffness.

  • Boosts Circulation and Metabolism

The constant temperature shifts encourage blood flow throughout your body, delivering vital nutrients to your tissues and organs. As a bonus, you might even notice an energy boost!

  • Enhances Immune System Function

By stimulating your body’s natural defenses, Contrast Therapy strengthens your resilience. This means fewer illnesses and feeling better, even during stressful or busy periods.

  • Supports Mental Clarity & Stress Relief

Alternating hot and cold sessions clear your mind and help dissolve stress. Many guests say they leave feeling lighter, clearer, and far more focused than when they arrived.

FAQs

  • Is contrast therapy safe for everyone?

Contrast Therapy is generally safe for most people, but there are a few exceptions. Individuals with cardiovascular concerns, certain chronic illnesses, or those who are pregnant should consult with their healthcare provider before trying Contrast Therapy. Our team will always perform a quick wellness check and discuss any possible contraindications with you before your session begins. If in doubt, please call ahead so we can answer specific questions based on your personal health history. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we strive to create an inclusive, tailored experience for every guest who visits us.

  • How often should I book contrast therapy sessions?

The ideal frequency for contrast therapy sessions—alternating between hot and cold treatments—varies based on individual goals and physical condition. For general muscle recovery and wellness, 2–3 sessions per week are often recommended. Athletes or those undergoing intense training might benefit from more frequent sessions, even daily during peak periods. However, beginners should start with one session per week to gauge their body’s response. Consult with a healthcare professional or therapist to personalize frequency based on your health status, recovery needs, and goals. Consistency is key, but giving your body time to adapt and recover between sessions is equally important.

  • What should I bring or wear to my session?

We recommend bringing a swimsuit or comfortable, minimal clothing for your session, as you’ll be alternating between the infrared sauna and cold water plunge or shower. Towels and robes are provided for your convenience. It’s best to hydrate well before your appointment, but you can also bring a water bottle if you wish. Most guests appreciate having a hair tie or headband handy for comfort. If you have any concerns about what to bring, please call our front desk before your visit. Our goal is for you to feel as relaxed and prepared as possible.

  • How much does the Contrast Therapy session cost, and can two people book together?

The Fire & Ice (Contrast Therapy) session costs $90 for a 60-minute session, which includes 10 minutes for showering and dressing. We also offer a Fire & Ice session for two people, allowing you and a friend or partner to enjoy the contrast therapy experience together for the same duration and protocols. Please contact us directly for pricing and availability when booking for two people.
